Non-Surgical Hair Restoration

Renew Confidence. Restore Density.

There are several distinctly different types of hair loss, each one of which has a very specific mechanism of origin, and therefore it needs to be treated very differently.

Alopecia Areata, for example, is relatively rare, and is caused by issues with the immune system, which produces antibodies against hair follicles. It is not easy to treat, but there are treatment modalities available today that can be quite effective.  Dr H has successfully treated a few, including one patient with Alopecia Totalis – a rare condition in which there is a total loss of ALL hair, including eyebrows, eyelashes, genital and axillary hair, etc.

Understanding Hair Loss: Causes and Treatments

The most prevalent type of hair loss is Male Pattern Baldness (MPB), which can be present in both men and women. The main theory of cause of MBP is excessive effect of Androgens (male type hormones) on hair follicles of upper segment of the scalp. They are present in both males and females, and can be produced not only by testicles, but by adrenal glands and by ovaries in women, or by intake of medications. There are different ways to reduce the effects of Androgens on hair follicles in men and women.

Some medications, if taken orally, can and will cause systemic sides effects (e.g. libido reduction in men). Injections or microneedling of specific medications into the scalp are able to bypass the systemic side effects and treat the condition effectively. The natural hair follicle cycle is about 4 months, therefore it usually takes 3-6 months before there is visible hair regrowth. In some instances it will be necessary to do hormonal tests to guide the treatment.

There are other types of hair loss, such as trichotillomania, fungal infection of the scalp, telogen effluvium, and others. You may be referred to other specialists for these types of hair loss.

Our Advanced Non-Surgical Options

  • PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma): Autologous growth factors concentrated from your blood to stimulate hair follicles, reduce inflammation, and promote thicker shafts.

  • Exosome and growth-factor treatments: Cell-derived biologics that enhance follicle repair and regenerative signaling for more robust results when combined with other modalities.

  • Microneedling for scalp rejuvenation: Micro-injury therapy to boost collagen, increase topical absorption, and enhance the effects of PRP or topical medications.

  • Medical-grade topicals and oral prescriptions: Prescription-strength minoxidil formulations, finasteride (for appropriate male patients), and adjunctive nutraceuticals to support function and slow progression.

Why Choose a Multimodal Approach?

Combining biologics, devices, and medications addresses hormonal, inflammatory, and follicular factors simultaneously—yielding superior, natural-looking outcomes compared with single therapies. Treatment plans are tailored by our Dr. H based on cause, pattern, and your goals.
